Congratulations on winning the “Computer Science Teaching Prize 2023” for both the “Best Bachelor’s Lecture” and the “Best Master’s Lecture”!

On Thursday, June 6th, 2024, the “Computer Science Teaching Prize” was awarded for the second time. Once a year, the students of the LMU's Department of Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science evaluate which lecturers and tutors have particularly excelled in their teaching. Courses from the winter semester 2022/23 and summer semester 2023 were considered for the 2023 teaching award. The students decided that the lecture “Operating Systems” by Prof. Dr. Linnhoff-Popien was particularly outstanding. And also the lecture “Natural Computing” by Prof. Dr. Thomas Gabor was honored as a particularly outstanding course.

Who can win a prize?

The teaching awards are open to anyone who is primarily responsible for teaching a course (lecture, tutorial). However, there are a few regulations: Lecturers who have received the Good Teaching Award for a course cannot be nominated for the next three awards for the same course Tutors and lecturers can only receive one award in a year. For each of the three prizes, one lecturer will be honored in both the Bachelor's and Master's courses Three bachelor's tutorials and one master's tutorial will be awarded per teaching prize

The winners were very happy last Thursday and the atmosphere was exuberant. We would like to thank the Active Student Association (GAF) group for organizing and awarding this prize.
